GREEN HANGOUT EVENT REPORT

In commemorating world environmental day, Environmental conservation community of Tanzania (ECCT-Team) managed to prepare and organize a green hangout event on 03 June 2023.

Relevant, to the theme of world environmental day. Green hangout event aimed to mobilize individuals to contribute their time, financial resources and material support.

SHE LEADS GREEN ACTION PROGRAM

Young women and girls have a vital role to play in green action activities such as climate change movement, and ecosystem restoration activities. Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania (ECCT) we are thrilled to launch and coordinate the She Lead Green Action Program that empower young women and girls to take lead in green action and bridging the gender gap of knowledge, skills, and action towards environmental conservation advocacy activities.

REGREENING BEACH PROGRAM

Action oriented program purposely in addressing the issue of ocean plastic pollution and coastal ecosystem degradation through community capacity building in coastal ecosystem conservation, engaging on nature conservation best practices and restoration activities such as beach cleanups, establishment of nursery trees and planting trees along the coastal of Tanzania Mainland.

Sanitation and Hygiene by Handwashing Project

The Sanitation and hygiene by hand washing in schools in Kisarawe District to prevent COVID-19 infection Project was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and implemented by the Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania (ECCT) from april 2021 to January 2022.

Green School Program

Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania ( ECCT) launched and delivered a fantastic green school program event in Dar es salaam, Tanzania, where the event was organised by ECCT organisation at Daniel Chongolo secondary School in Mbezi beach, Dar es salaam from 02nd to 04th June 2022 . The launch event gathered 200 students and trained them on environmental education and planting 30 mango tree seedlings around school premises.

BEACH CLEANUP

Since 2020 when we officially registered and started our first activities, immediately in March, 2020 we organised a massive beach cleanup at Selander bridge, Dar es salaam, Tanzania. We collected 200 bags of waste and more than 780 people showed up during the cleanup and we cleaned more than a 500 metre stretch of the beach.

Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania (ECCT) focused on working from grassroot levels in the community to address the issue of environmental pollution as a major global crisis we are facing now and advocating for a solution towards sustainable environmental conservation activities.
